I first encountered this idea through someone very close to my heart, who once told me “your tongue drips honey.” Later through conversations with friends, they told me about this Egyptian saying, (إذا كان حبيبك عسل ما تلحسوش كله), like a reminder to appreciate sweetness without taking all of it for yourself
To me, it speaks about caring for each-other with balance: trying to honor kindness without exhausting it, holding space for the exchange between vulnerability, respect, strength, tenderness.
